How Can severe Stomach Bloating Along With Chest Pain Be Treated?

Hello, we live in an area that does not have very many experienced doctors, and a very new young doctor just sent my husband home from the hospital. He has been having symptoms for over a week, high blood pressure, sometimes low, distended stomach with severe bloating, fever/chills, very lethargic, some minor chest pain (heart problems ruled out) heart burn, leg muscles cramping and spasms. On Thursday night he vomited most of the night and passed out, he has had some headaches too. They said CT scan showed no blockage, blood work all seems to come back fine. Something is wrong with him and I am very worried. He is not himself. He is not one to go to the ER, I made him go. He has a Dr. at the VA in Bath, I am going to try to follow up tomorrow, but I am having some concerns.

Hi,

I got through your case history and it seems a case of gastrointestinal infection from viruses or bacteria. He has developed gut inflammation from infection which is causing bloating and pain which is radiating to the chest as well. Moreover, any disorder affecting stomach can cause chest pain from acidity.

Infections often cause fever, lethargy, weakness headache, chills as there is a loss of nutrients, salts from the body and dehydration.

You don't worry he may need to have an antibiotic coverage for some time. Moreover, keep him on a soft diet with soup. You also feed her with fluids to prevent dehydration.

I suggest you see a physician so that he can be examined properly and accordingly treated.
